V43 Qtopia Registration

As it is impossible for non-Koreans to purchase the activation code for V43 Qtopia, I would like to offer my services as a conduit for its distribution. If there is sufficient interest, I will purchase a bunch of key's and make them available to you. (Of course, if there is a huge demand, I might have trouble keeping up!!) I could post something on Ebay, for example, allowing you to pay through PayPal. There is a slight problem in that once you get the code (I got mine via email from I-Station--you would get yours via email from me), you have to visit the I-Station site and enter the product serial number and the code you were emailed in order to get the product key.

Alternatively, people who have activated copies could post their information in this thread and perhaps a pattern might emerge.

For example, in my case:
Serial Number (Located in Applications>System Info>Certification, after Qtopia is Installed): 16LA1849T

Unlocking Code (Supplied by I-Station via e-mail): IVG138YAW4ELD7NX

My service? I'm just an indivudial, not a business.The cost of V43 Qtopia on the I-Station website is 29,800 Korean Won. Right now, that is equivalent to 23.8531 Euros or 32.2446 US dollars. I guess I would ask for 25 Euros/35 Dollars per license.

Thanks for the help and the codes.... I think the unlock code is web generated, but the qtopia product key seem calculated from the serial number that should be the v43 serial number on the sticker behind the battery
If i can make the launcher work on v43 qtopia, i would definitively do the move...

Yes, I think that the serial number you get after first installing V43 Qtopia is the result of the interaction of the installation and the hardware in some way, so each installation will have a unique serial number. Still, with enough information...well...

I have been thinking of offering more than V43 Qtopia. I have a Korean friend married to a Korean -American guy, so they have the Korean national ID, Korean and American credit cards, and Paypal. We could offer a virtual "shadow store" of all I-Station products using Paypal. I doubt if people would be interested in buying big ticket items like the PMP itself since the warranty issue would be clouded (and even if it could be worked out, all warranty work would need to be done in Korea), but things like extra batteries, styluses, the gamepad, etc, might be popular. People could select what they want on the I-Station shopping site and email us their choices. We would then buy it and ship it, and the buyers could pay through Paypal. Of course, we would have to charge a little extra to cover the Paypal fees and shipping (and possibly a little for ourselves), but it would certainly not be gouging.

What is the serial number written behind v43, under the battery ?

One other question: can you buy european maps for the gps function? it redirects to a corean site for maps but couldn't find the information as it was all in korean and needed a login...

No Euopean maps--Don't you know the folks at Digital Cube are xenophobic and small minded in the extreme. The Curro site is a navigation provider company and yes, requires a Korean national ID (YES SIR!!!) to register. I just updated and I'm not sure if I have to pay extra for the navigation feature on V43 Qtopia.

By the way zeroqi, have you looked at the launchers for the T43 on pmplab? Apparently V43 Qtopia is exactly the same as the T43 native version and although I don't read Korean well, it looks like there are several different launchers available at pmplablorg.

seems it works the launcher version i have does work on t43 so on v43qt as well

Got my serial for Qtopia from hanguk two days ago [thanks again!!!!]
The new v43 qtopia from this month 20070514_V43_QT_FW.zip > 20070510_V43_M_FW_VER1.4.9.exe seem to open quite well flash [no big samplerate or too big files], the usb host allow to copy and open straight from the usb key easily and quickly, usb function doesn't need to be launched.... the office viewer seems to open many formats [the initial firmware i did put was horrible, couldn't read a single file]

just had to move a library from folder t43...

Dis Zeroqi es ce que tu peux nous faire un tuto sur les étapes à effectuer pour changer son Qtopia ? Firware à installer, manip d'enregistrement...

Sinon avec ton Qtopia 2.2 tu conserve l'OS PMP que l'on a au démarrage ?

I mentioned above that I'd probably charge around 25 Euros gor the Qtopia Key, as it is 29,800 won on the I-Station Website. Sadly, since I have made my first transaction using Paypal, I have to change that to 27 Euros.

At 25 Euros, Paypal took a fee of 1.83 Euros, leaving me with 23.17 Euros. Paypal then converted that into dollars at a rate of 1.31 or so, leaving me with $30.43. The problem is that 29,800 Korean Won= $32.10--so I lost $1.70 on the transaction. As the Euro is worth around $1.30, I need to charge at least 26.50 Euros to come out even. However, since I assume that Paypal will charge more for a larger amount, I think that to be safe (to ensure that I get as much as I pay), I need to charge 27 Euros.

I'm sorry for this--I hope you understand that I had no experience using Paypal before now.

I believe this little jedi and saw this code on pmplab but couldn't do anything with it but now it is clear to me....

It seems qtopia uses the hdd serial, meaning if we can change the hdd serial with a tool we can use the same qtopia code.... also mean you can't upgrade the hdd after buying the license....

As for the xbox tools for hdd serial in dos mode, should work :p

I hope that pjm0616 is right...I see that there was a problem with zeldoi5's request for a key, but that might work itself out. I myself joined the site to get see if I could get the u-dic key--which one has to pay for if one upgrades to Qtopia. Zebdic is probably a better choice for me anyway, but it's the principle.

I hope that someone can convert this work into a bonafide keygen so that pjm0616 doesn't have to deal with everyone one by one, but even moreso to send a message to I-Station that it is unethical (and illegal in most countries) to restrict access to product support and updates to only those who happen to be of a particular nationality. I pity the poor foreigner who bought an I-Station at Incheon International Airport thinking it was cool, only to find that since he or she wasn't Korean, he or she wasn't entitled to the same benefits--eg. updates-- as Koreans who bought the same product. The whole purpose of this thread was to circumvent the outrageous decision by I-Station to require a Korean national identification number to update our I-Station devices and/or to purchase related accessories. Much better if we can do it without paying them any money in the process!!
